Duke head men’s basketball coach Jon Scheyer announced Tuesday morning that starting point guard, Caleb Foster, will be out indefinitely with a fractured right foot. The injury happened during the first half of the Blue Devils’ 76-61 season finale win over UNC.
“Caleb suffered a fracture in his foot in the game on Saturday. He immediately after the game said he was going to be back. He got surgery first thing Sunday morning. He’s on the road to recovery. In his mind and our mind we’ll do everything we possibly can, with our mindset to continue to advance, where we can give him a shot to come back when it’s all said and done.”
Scheyer said that if Foster is able to return this season the Blue Devils would have to advance to the Final Four.
Center Pat Ngongba, who missed Saturday’s game with a sore foot, will not play in this week’s ACC Tournament with the expectation that he will be available for the start of the NCAA Tournament next week.
