The Panthers made several roster moves on day two of the NFL’s legal tampering period.
The team brought back five players who were on last year’s roster, including wide receiver David Moore, defensive end LaBryan Ray, cornerback Robert Rochell, outside linebacker Thomas Incoom, and safety Isaiah Simmons.
Moore is entering his third season with the Panthers. In his two seasons with the Panthers, Moore has played in 21 games with seven starts and totaled 33 receptions for 356 yards and three touchdowns. He also recorded one carry for 12 yards.
Ray has spent the past three seasons (2023-25) with the team, appearing in 46 games (10 starts) and totaling 73 tackles and one sack.
Rochell is entering his sixth NFL season. He was signed to Carolina’s active roster from Dallas’ practice squad this past season and appeared in four regular-season games with two special teams tackles.
Incoom, a fourth-year player, played in all 17 games for Carolina and led the team with 16 special teams tackles.
Simmons, a seventh-year player out of Clemson, played in five regular-season games and one postseason contest for Carolina after joining the team midseason. In the NFC Wild Card game against the Rams, he blocked a punt in the fourth quarter and added one special teams tackle. Simmons was originally selected in the first round (eighth overall) by the Cardinals in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Panthers also announced the release of defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson.
Robinson was signed by Carolina as an unrestricted free agent in 2024 and started all 33 games he appeared in as a Panther, totaling 145 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and eight sacks over the past two seasons.
The team waived defensive tackle Popo Aumavae, who originally joined the Carolina in 2024.
