The NC State Wolfpack continue their ACC road schedule, this time making the short trip to Winston-Salem to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 PM and can be seen on ACC Network Extra.
This will be the second matchup between the two this season as the Wolfpack defeated the Deacons on January 27 in Raleigh 72-67, withstanding a late furry from Wake Forest after losing then leading scorer Devon Daniels to injury.
Most recently, NC State (9-9 overall, 5-8 ACC) ended a two game skid slipping past Pitt on the road Wednesday afternoon 74-73. Cole Hellems paced the offense with 17 points leading four double figure Wolfpack scorers.
On the season, Hellems leads the Wolfpack on offense at 13.2 ppg followed by DJ Funderburk who adds 12.2 ppg. Manny Bates rounds out the scoring at 9 ppg while leading in rebounds at just over six per game.
Wake Forest (6-10 overall, 3-10 ACC) continues their rebuild looking to end a two-game losing streak, most recently falling to Duke Wednesday evening at home 84-60. The Deacons have showed promise as of late, picking up a road win at Boston College and battling ranked Florida State in a disappointing overtime loss last week.
Daivien Williamson leads Wake Forest on the offensive side averaging 12.6 ppg followed by Tariq Ingraham and Isiah Mucius at 11 and 10 ppg respectively. Ody Oguama follows in rebounds at 5.9 while also adding 9.5 points on the offensive end.
Keys To Victory:
NC State: Control the inside. Force turnovers. Scoring from somewhere outside of the frontcourt.
Wake Forest: Win the rebound battle. Handle NC State pressure defense. Hit open shots given.
