NC State athletics director, Boo Corrigan, spoke with media Thursday afternoon after Will Wade abruptly resigned as head men’s basketball coach after just one year.
Corrigan opened up with a Philip Rivers quote saying “The Wolfpack ain’t for soft people,” before outlining discussions held with Wade this week about the future of the team and emphasizing that he was just as surprised as everyone else.
Will Wade will return to LSU, where he was the head coach from 2017 – 2022 before being fired for NCAA allegations, including impermissible payments to players and recruiting violations. During his tenure in Baton Rouge, he compiled a 105-51 record, won the 2019 SEC regular-season title and reached the NCAA tournament three times.
