Reports surfaced on Twitter that the Carolina Panthers uniforms are getting a new design. Per the team, while there will be some changes, a total redesign is not in the works.
The current uniforms are undergoing a color correction to bring them more in line with the team’s true color – process blue. When Nike took over league uniforms in 2012, they chose the color in their color book that was closest to the original blue. They now have a better color match.
Here’s what will/will not change:
- The shoulder stripe stops short of going under the armpit as part of change made by Nike to accommodate new technology related to increased mobility.
- Silver will not be removed.
The jerseys for the number one draft choice will reflect this updated color of blue, which is more consistent with the blue in the end zones at Bank of America Stadium. The logo will remain the same.
