In the immortal words of Greenville, NC native Petey Pablo:
“North Carolina, come on and raise up.
Take your shirt off, twist it ’round your hand,
Spin it like a helicopter.”
Day three of the 2023 ACC Tournament will feature four games, each with a team from North Carolina represented.
Wake Forest defeated Syracuse, 77-74; North Carolina beat Boston College, 85-61; and NC State handled business against Virginia Tech – all moving on to the tournament’s quarterfinal. Duke, received a double bye and will open the postseason against Pitt, who defeated Georgia Tech to advance.
What makes this moment even more fitting is that these teams will play in Greensboro and the coliseum that has hosted the tournament 26 times since 1967.
This is what it means to be called the Hoop State. This is what ACC Basketball is all about. This is what being in Greensboro is all about.
No matter how things play out Thursday, there’s no question that ACC still runs through NC.
