The biggest game in college basketball history tips off of Saturday night at approximately 8:49pm est. While many from North Carolina are making the trip down to New Orleans for the Final Four, there are plenty who will be staying home in the center of the college basketball universe.
If you’re looking for a spot to check out the game Carolina Blitz has you covered with some recommendations. Please note that you’ll need to arrive at all of these places early.
Charlotte
Whiskey Warehouse:
Whiskey Warehouse is one of my go-to spots to watch any game. With indoor/outdoor options, plenty of televisions and good food you can’t go wrong.
Picasso’s:
Looking for a true sports bar for true sports lovers, this is your spot.
Stats:
Want to watch the game and attend a day party at the same time, Stats is the place to be…and they have good food.
1501:
For Good vibes, good music, good cigars and good food 1501 is a good option. It’s important to note that while they do have televisions to show the game, but there are just three and they’re small.
Cloud:
Want to go the club first and watch the game second, this is your spot.
Durham
Cameron Indoor Stadium:
Duke athletics is having a watch party at Cameron Indoor stadium for students. Doors open at 5pm. There will be food, raffles and more.
Tobacco Road Sports Cafe:
TVs, TVs and more TVs. You won’t have to worry about finding a screen at this spot.
Devine’s:
For the hard score sports lover…and Duke fan.
Chapel Hill
Dean Smith Center:
Fans can watch both NCAA men’s basketball semifinal games at the Smith Center Saturday night, with the action on a large projection screen and the arena video boards. In Game 1, Villanova takes on Kansas with tipoff at 6:09 p.m. Approximately 40 minutes after the end of that game, the Tar Heels will take on Duke.
ntry A at the Smith Center will open for students, faculty and staff with a UNC One Card at 5:30 p.m. The general public is invited to enter at Entry A beginning at 5:45 p.m.
Concessions and merchandise will be available. General fan parking is available for $5 in the Manning, Bowles and Craige parking lots beginning at 4 p.m. Payments are cashless (credit cards only) and can be made at the entrance to the lot. ADA parking is available in the Williamson lot for $5 and is also cashless.
The Carolina Basketball Museum, located in the Ernie Williamson Athletic Center, will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Top of the Hill:
This popular Franklin Street bar is the perfect spot for Tar Heel fans.
Raleigh
Tobacco Road Sports Cafe:
Like their sister property in Durham, this sports bar has tvs on tvs on tvs.
Carolina Ale House:
If you want atmosphere, this is the place.
Clouds Brewing:
The tvs aren’t big, but the beer is plentiful.
Drive Shack/ Stars & Strikes:
Looking for a two-for-one…golf and the game or bowling and the game, these two are great.
