Delta Airlines, located in the Raleigh-Durham area (RDU), is having a Duke vs UNC Final Four celebration at the airport for passengers who booked flights into New Orleans. Options heading into Louisiana have been limited, with flights selling out earlier in the week.
With many passengers having to pay record amounts of cash to fly into New Orleans, Delta Airlines added two non-stop routes from Raleigh into New Orleans Friday morning and afternoon. The flights sold out within minutes. Both flights offered First Class, Main Cabin and Basic Economy seating on Delta’s CRJ and 757 Boeing based planes.
According to management, Delta airlines will hold a celebration at the gates for passengers traveling to the Final Four which will include balloons, selfie stations, giveaways and basketball challenges inside Terminal 2 of RDU.
