In a battle of teams tied for second in the ACC standings, No. 9 Duke and Notre Dame collide on Big Monday at Purcell Pavilion. The Blue Devils began a stretch of three straight road games with a 74-65 win at Louisville on Saturday. Its next two road foes – Notre Dame and North Carolina – are a combined 21-0 at home.
About Duke
- Five-time ACC Freshman of the Week, Paolo Banchero is averaging a double-double over Duke’s last five games with 17.2 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and a .524 field goal percentage in that span.
- Banchero has set a career high in rebounds in three of the last four games, including 15 at Louisville on Saturday.
- In ACC play, Banchero’s 18.9 points lead the conference, while his 9.4 rebounds are second.
- Sophomore Mark Williams, a finalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, leads the ACC and is 11th nationally in blocks (3.2). Williams is Duke’s second leading scorer and rebounder over the last five games with 14.6 points and 9.2 boards.
- Freshman AJ Griffin set a Duke freshman record for three-point accuracy with his 5-of-5 at Louisville on Saturday, matching career highs in points (22) and made three-pointers (five).
- Griffin is one of only 13 players nationally averaging .500 or better from three-point range with a minimum of 50 attempts. He is one two major conference players, the only major conference freshman and one of four freshmen nationally doing so.
- Stepping up in place of his injured former high school teammate Trevor Keels, sophomore Jeremy Roach has 29 points, 29 assists, four turnovers and 14 rebounds over Duke’s last four games. He matched his career high of nine assists in consecutive games over Syracuse and Clemson, while also providing key offense for the Blue Devils to help close out the Tigers last Tuesday night
- Duke enters the game with the nation’s third best assist/turnover ratio of 1.72 and the team has assisted on 70 percent of its field goals over the last five games; 60 percent for the season.
- The Blue Devils also rank top 15 nationally and lead the ACC in field goal shooting, assists, scoring margin, scoring offense and blocks.

- Notre Dame enters Monday’s game having won five straight and 10 of its last 11, including a 69-65 win over Virginia Saturday at home.
- Senior Dane Goodwin and freshman Blake Wesley lead the team in scoring at 15.4 and 15.0 points per game, respectively.
- Goodwin is shooting .516 from the field and .500 (48-of-96) from three-point range to join Duke’s AJ Griffin as one of the 13 players nationally shooting .500+ from three with at least 50 attempts.

Duke vs Notre Dame
- Monday’s game is the 36th meeting between Duke and Notre Dame, with the Blue Devils leading, 27-8.
- The teams split a pair of games last season — Duke winning at ND, 75-65, on Dec. 16 and the Irish winning at Cameron, 93-89, on Feb. 9.
- Since joining the ACC, the series favors Duke 8-6 (6-4 in the regular season) and the Blue Devils have won seven of the last eight.
- Four of the meetings have come in the ACC Tournament, with Duke winning 75-69 in the 2017 championship game and 88-70 in the 2018 quarterfinals — both in Brooklyn.
