Speed kills. And because it does, adding it to the Panthers was a focus of Matt Rhule and the new Carolina regime.

Carolina signed Robby Anderson, a fast un-drafted receiver whose 4.34 40-yard dash performance at Temple’s Pro Day in 2016 led an eventual 4 year stint with the Jets, in April. Now Anderson is in Carolina, reunited with his former college coach Matt Rhule, and looking forward to executing the vision of new offensive coordinator Joe Brady.

“I love it so far,” Anderson said on a his first press conference since the start of training camp. ” I’m able to come in the building and I can trust in my coach that all I have to do is what I need to do and the rest will take care of itself. Seeing what he’s done, with players, offenses and teams, it’s exciting.”

When asked to describe Brady’s offense Robby said it’s creative, but also added that there will be balance.

“The best was I can explain it is creative. It’s smart. It’s going to put everybody in their best element. Everyone will get a fair chance to do what they do on a consistent basis.”

Anderson says it’s that balance, and a coaching staff that allows him to be himself, that makes Carolina the best situation he can be in.

“Being here I can be myself and if my coaches tell me something, that’s what it is. I just need to do my part and I’m going to get a fair opportunity. It’s a green light for everything for me. Only I can stop me and they see that.”
