Let’s be honest, nobody wants to be last year’s UVA team – a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament routed by a 16th seed no one has ever heard of. But that win gave hope to a lot of teams who otherwise might not have it going up against perennial powerhouses like Duke and UNC. The game also taught future top seeds in the tournament that no one is safe during March Madness. It’s a lesson that Duke and UNC had to be reminded of in the first half of their NCAA Tournament 1st round games.
