The NFL has a VERY strict uniform policy, but for one Sunday this season the “No Fun League” will allow players to have a little artistic freedom on game day. Ā According to Sports Illustrated’s Jonathan Jones, on week 13 the league will allow players to shout-out a charitable organization of their choice in one of the coolest ways possible.
The NFL is planning to allow players to promote a charitable cause of their choice during the Dec. 4 weekend, and a separate league source indicated that plan will go beyond cleats.
This could either be really good for the league or really bad. Ā I’m sure the NFL will have to pre-approve personalizations, but will they be discriminatory in what messages they allow? Ā Will players be able to openly support organizations like the Black Lives Matter movement or will they deem that a cause that’s too controversial?
The league is set to announce their full plan at a later date.
