NC State and South Carolina will open the 2017 college football season in Charlotte when the two schools compete in the Belk College Kickoff Game at Bank of America Stadium.

“We have been in discussions with South Carolina for a couple of years and were able this past August to find a mutually acceptable season to play,” said NC State Director of Athletics Debbie Yow. “Wolfpackers will look forward with great anticipation to this ACC-SEC matchup.”

“It will be a great opportunity for our team and for our fans to be able to play a game against an SEC opponent in Charlotte,” said NC State head coach Dave Doeren. “We have many players and fans from that area of the state and we expect to see Bank of America Stadium filled with Wolfpack red.”

“We are excited to announce that these two prominent universities will be facing off in Charlotte in 2017,” said Will Webb, Executive Director of the Charlotte Sports Foundation. “It is a great time to be a college football fan in Charlotte, and we look forward to welcoming Gamecock and Wolfpack fans to our city.”

The last time the Wolfpack and Gamecocks met was in 2009.  The specific date and kick off time, along with complete ticket information, will be announced at a later date.
