Although some may not know it because of his laid-back demeanor and unassuming character, but Charles Johnson hasn’t just been successful on the field, he’s been quite the business man off of it.
Yesterday, the Carolina Panthers defensive lineman announced plans to open a restaurant in Uptown Charlotte.
According to public property records, Johnson purchased the fire house, which was built in mid-1920’s, in March for $1.6 million as a member of Randy Watson Holdings LLC. Â Prior to that, the building was owned by a group lead by Panthers’ center Ryan Khalil.
In his caption, Johnson said the restaurant will give him something to focus on after he was placed on IR designated to return for at least 8 weeks. Â No word yet on when it will open.
