Report: Panthers Will Not Re-Sign LT Byron Bell

The Panthers are officially on the market for a starting left tackle to protect Cam Newton’s blind side.

Byron Bell announced via Instagram that the team does not plan to re-sign him.

The Panthers were hoping that Bell would be the team’s answer when Jordan Gross retired after the 2013 season, but after giving up nearly 11 sacks last season, it was past time for Carolina to move on.

Dave Gettleman will have a lot of work ahead of him securing a line that can properly protect Cam Newton.  The NFL offseason is officially in full swing.
