Everyone thought history would be delayed as the Blue Devils struggled in Sunday’s game against St John’s, but the team showed resiliency and college hoops fans would not have to wait any longer for the inevitable as Mike Krzyzewski posted his 1000th career win in Duke’s 77-68 defeat of the Red Storm.
After the game, Coach K gave an inspiring speech to his 4th ranked team, giving credit to being at great places and around great people, for his record-setting achievement.
No one can accomplish this type of achievement without help and support, so it’s great that Coach K is acknowledging that while teaching his players a invaluable life lesson.
I have a feeling this record will be one that stands for a LONG time to come.
