To the delight of Carolina fans, Browns’ quarterback Johnny Manziel left Sunday’s game against the Panthers with a hamstring injury. After the game Newton blasted those who cheered Manziel’s injury, calling them classless and said they’re better than that.
Fans cheered the hit on Manziel. Manziel stood up, walked a step, then went to the ground. Then there were loud cheers.

“I was hoping he was all right,” said Newton after Carolina’s 17-13 victory. “It was sad to see the crowd’s response to when he got hurt. You don’t celebrate when a guy’s hurt; it’s classless. It takes the integrity out of the game. For the crowd to respond in that type of way, man, we’re better than that.”
Cam Newton is absolutely right. Nobody should ever cheer a player getting hurt.
