College basketball is right around the corner and to celebrate the beginning of a new season, many schools put on elaborate “Midnight Madness” productions to introduce their team to the fans.
This year was full of star appearances, performances and blunders. Check out my top five:
#5: Bill Self Dresses Up as Andrew Wiggins
Kansas Head Coach Bill Self channeled his inner Andrew Wiggins during “Late Night at the Phog” by dressing up like the former Jayhawk and #1 NBA Draft Pick.
I must say, Self didn’t look bad in the bow tie and glasses, but I like the look better on Young Wiggins. That blazer still goes hard to me.
#4: Marcus Paige Performs Drunk In Love
The Tar Heels put on quite a show for “Late Night with Roy,” including lip-synch performances by Marcus Paige and Kennedy Meeks. Paige got a couple of his teammates to help and I have to include them in this list for their attempt at the Beyonce’ stripper leg shake to the popular “Drunk In Love.”
Who knew…
#3: Rick Ross Closes Out Memphis Madness
The Memphis Tigers and their sold-out Memphis Madness crowd were treated to a performance by Rick Ross.
What better way to shut down Midnight Madness than with The Boss himself *Insert Rick Ross grunt here*
#2: Tubby Smith Dresses as Shaft; Falls off Motorcycle
Texas Tech Head Coach Tubby Smith decided to make a spectacular entrance during their Madness festivities during a shaft sketch and this happened…
Don’t worry, the only thing Tubby hurt was his pride. By the way, who told Tubby this would be a good idea? That person needs to be relieved of his/her duties immediately.
#1: Drake in Kentucky Warm-Up Line; Shoots Horrible Air Ball
Who else would #1 go to but super fan/stan Drake himself – who decided to come out on the court like he was a part of the top-ranked Kentucky squad, participate in the lay-up line and shoot a horrendous air ball.
Somebody get Aubrey ole hoop dream arse and sit him down…PLEASE.
