It was a grim scene on the practice field at Bank of America Stadium as second year outside linebacker Nic Scourton was carted off with a right knee injury. Scourton went down during a team drill and remained on the ground for a few minutes as trainers evaluated his right leg. Players and coaches immediately took a knee in solidarity.
Scourton was then helped on to the front seat of the medical cart for transport to the locker room. Before leaving the field every player and staff member walked to the cart to dap up Scourton, who was visibly emotional.
“I was looking at the other side of the field,” head coach Dave Canales said when asked if he saw how the injury happened. “I just heard him go down. They’re going to take him to get imaging this afternoon and we’ll have more information on that.”
“That’s our brother,” quarterback Bryce Young said after practice. “We all care. We all feel for him. We’re all just praying for him. We’re all there for him.”
Nic Scourton recorded 47 total tackles, 5.0 sacks, and one forced fumble during his 2025 rookie season with the Carolina Panthers.
