There was lots of criticism about the officiating in the Panthers week 15 loss to the Saints and according to Pro Football Talk the league has admitted to getting at least one call wrong.
The outlet reported that the NFL “privately” admitted to Carolina that the Tetairoa McMillan late 4th quarter catch that was overturned after a New Orleans challenge was in fact a completion.
When asked about the admission Wednesday, Panthers head coach Dave Canales said he’s focused on the team’s week 16 match-up against Tampa Bay.
“They have to make live calls and they have to go with the information they’re given. There is nothing we can do about that. What we can focus on is executing, doing our part, and we certainly gave up some opportunities in that game. That’s got to be our focus. That’s my focus. I’m focused on getting ready for the Bucs.”
While the reversal did not end the drive, it does validate some of the concerns about officiating expressed by fans and players.
