The Carolina Panthers had a lengthy injury report Wednesday ahead of their week nine matchup against the Packers and could be without two key players when they travel to Green Bay.
Players on the injury report included:
Derrick Brown (knee) – Full Participant
Brady Christensen (Achilles) –Ā Did Not Practice
Andy Dalton (right thumb) – Did Not Practice
Jimmy Horn Jr. (shoulder) – Full Participant
Damien Lewis (oblique) – Full Participant
Cade Mays (ankle/knee) – Did Not Practice
Taylor Moton (knee) – Did Not Practice
Nick Scott (groin) – Did Not Practice
Princely Umanmielen (ankle) – Did Not Practice
Trevin Wallace (shoulder) – Did Not Practice
Bryce Young (ankle) – Full Participant
Chandler Zavala (knee) – Full Participant
Quarterback Bryce Young participated in practice for the first time since injuring his ankle during the Panthers’ week seven win against the Jets. Young, a full participant, had a good day according to Canales.
“Bryce had a really good day. We’re going to take it each day and try to push it a little it more. We had a little bit of a modified mode at practice, but he handled the load. Tomorrow we’ll push it again and we’ll make a decision in the next couple of days”
When asked if he has a good feeling about Bryce being available, Dave was optimistic.
“I would hope so,” Canales said. “He really wants to. We’ve got to be smart and we’ve got to challenge him physically in the next two days to make sure he can do that. So that’s why we’re still calling it day-to-day. We do have to throw some different types of movements and things at him, but he’s focused; he’s ready; he’s into it. I know he wants to go, so if he can he will.”
The prognosis on other players, including offensive lineman Cade Mays and outside linebacker Princely Umanmielen wasn’t as good.
“Princely looks like he’ll be out right now. It’s questionable, but at the same time it doesn’t look like he was able to do much.”
When asked if Mays and Umanmielen were the players on the injury report most likely not to play Sunday Canales said “probably, yes.”
Offensive Taylor Moton, safety Nick Scott, linebacker Trevin Wallace and quarterback Andy Dalton are all day-to-day. Offensive lineman Brady Christensen will be out the remainder of the season with an Achilles injury.
