Brady Christensen left the Panthers’ 40-9 loss to the Bills on a cart early in the fourth quarter. After the game head coach Dave Canales announced the do-it-all offensive lineman will be sidelined indefinitely with what is believed to be a ruptured Achilles.
“Brady Christensen has an Achilles [injury] and it’s a significant one,” Canales said. “He’s going to be out. We’re going miss him a lot and [this situation] just gives me a chance to just talk about what he’s meant to this group, the flexibility to play all across the line in different spots. He has been playing great football for us, so we’re really going to miss Brady.”
“Itās heavy for sure,” offensive lineman Austin Corbett said when asked about the emotion among his position group. “Ultimately we donāt know the severity of anything yet so we have to wait until all of the tests come back, but guys are just sticking together. The bonds in that room are strong. The love we have for one another will stay strong. We will keep praying, keep all the families in our hearts, and weāll figure it out and weāll go from there.”
The recovery time for a torn Achilles tendon can vary depending on factors such as the severity of the tear, whether surgery is performed and the individual’s overall health. Recovery may take 6-12 months.Ā
