The Panthers return to Bank of America Stadium in Week 6 to face the Dallas Cowboys, looking to secure their third home win of the season.
Last Sunday’s win vs. Miami (10/5), marked the eighth time in franchise history the Panthers have started 2-0 at home, and first since 2021. In five of those previous seven seasons, the Panthers finished with a winning record at home, including
undefeated home records in 2015, 2008 and 1996.
This will be the 15th regular-season matchup between Dallas and the Panthers, with the Cowboys currently holding a 12-3 advantage.
Despite the regular season record vs. Dallas, the Panthers have won both postseason contests between the two teams, including the first-ever meeting between the franchises. In only their second season (1996), the Panthers defeated Dallas 26-17 in the Divisional Round (01/05/97) to advance the NFC Championship Game in Green Bay.
The Panthers are 1-7 at home against Dallas in the regular season and 2-0 in the post season. In the last matchup in ‘The Queen City’ Carolina fell to Dallas 30-14 in Week 15 of the 2024 season.
About Carolina
- Last week vs. Miami (10/5), the Panthers matched the biggest comeback in team history, overcoming a 17-point deficit (trailed 17-0 in the second quarter) to win 27-24. Carolina has previously trailed by 17 points in comeback wins vs Jacksonville (9/07/03), at San Francisco (11/14/04), and at Philadelphia (10/21/18).
- Making his first start in a Panthers uniform, RB Rico Dowdle set a single-game career-high with 206 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries (9.0 avg.). The 206 yards rushing matched Jonathan Stewart (12/27/09 at the New York Giants) for the second most rushing yards in team history.
- The Panthers defense registered a season-high 3.0 sacks vs. Miami (10/5), including the first sacks of the season from DEs Derrick Brown and A’Shawn Robinson, and the first Panthers sack from OLB Patrick Jones II, a seven-yard sack that forced a punt on the final Miami offensive possession. Additionally, the defense also recorded a season-high nine tackles for a loss with six different players collecting a TFL.
- The Panthers defense held the Dolphins to just 19 rushing yards, which is the second fewest rushing yards allowed in team history behind the record of 14 yards allowed versus Washington (11/22/15). Miami’s average of 1.36 yards per carry (19 yards on 14 attempts) is the second lowest average rushing gain allowed in team history, behind the team record of 1.11 yards per carry at Philadelphia (10/27/96).
- QB Bryce Young engineered his seventh career game-winning drive that put the team ahead for good in the fourth quarter or overtime, directing the Panthers 83 yards on eight plays in 2:43. Young finished 19-of-30 for 198 yards with two touchdowns and one interception for a 90.7 quarterback rating.
About Dallas
- George Pickens has five receiving touchdowns in his first season with Dallas, the most by any player through their first five games with the Cowboys. Pickens has caught a touchdown in four consecutive games, the longest touchdown streak of his career.
- Dak Prescott leads the NFL with 14 big-play passes (25-plus yards) in 2025. He also leads the NFL in completions (139), ranks second in passing yards (1,356) and is tied for third in passing touchdowns (10).
- Dallas scored multiple times with under two minutes to go in the first half in each of its last two games. The Cowboys have scored 47 points in the last two minutes of both halves this season, the most in the NFL.
- Javonte Williams leads the Cowboys with nine runs of 10-plus yards in 2025, which is tied for eighth among NFL running backs. - Dante Fowler recorded his first sack of the season in Week 5 at the N.Y. Jets. Fowler also recorded eight pressures via NFL Pro, tied for the second-most in a game in his career since at least 2018.According to NFL’s NextGen Stats, Fowler has a pass rush win rate of 23%, good for 10th among NFL edge rushers in 2025.
