The Panthers opened the practice window Wednesday for wide receiver Jalen Coker, who has been sidelined with a quadricep strain since the preseason. Coker was a full participant in today’s practice and may even be available to play in Sunday’s matchup against the Cowboys.
“He looked good,” head coach Dave Canales said when asked about his performance. “He ran crisp routes. He looks fast. He looks like Jalen. We want to make sure that he can put the volume of this full week in before we make a decision to bring him up this week or not.”
While Canales and his staff will make the ultimate decision about his availability, Coker says he’s ready to go.
“I think it was good,” Jalen said when we asked him how practice went. “It was a lighter day today so tomorrow will be a real test, but I feel good.”
When asked if he feels ready to go Sunday Coker did not hesitate.
“Yeah. I do. I do.”
Coker will get extra reps in practice to determine if he can handle the workload that comes with playing in a game. Expect a final decision to be made by Friday.
