After a two road game skid to start the season, the Panthers return to Bank of America Stadium for its 2025 home opener against divisional rival Atlanta Falcons.
The Panthers enter the Week 3 matchup with an 0-2 record after falling to the Arizona Cardinals on the road, 27-22. Carolina follows its home opener with a trip to Foxborough to take on the Patriots in Week 4.
The Falcons travel to ‘The Queen City’ following a 22-6 victory over the Minnesota Vikings for their second NFC South matchup of the season. Atlanta enters 0-1 in divisional play and look to avoid back-to-back division losses.
This will be the 61st matchup between the two clubs, with the Falcons leading the series 37-23. The two teams last met in Week 18 of the 2024 season, an overtime thriller where the Panthers’ put up a team high 44 points, the most in a game since they scored 45 in 2017, Week 10 against Miami.

About Carolina
- In the second game of his career, rookie WR Tetairoa McMillan registered his first 100-yard receiving game on six catches. It marked the earliest in a season that a Panthers rookie has compiled 100 yards receiving. McMillan’s 100 yards led all receivers and is his second consecutive week leading the Panthers receiving corps.
- Through two games of 2025, QB Bryce Young has completed 58.9% of his passes for 482 yards, four touchdowns, three interceptions, and a passer rating of 74.4. In the second half at Arizona (9/14), Young increased his passer rating by 48 points, throwing all three of his touchdowns and just one interception.
- In coverage as the nearest defender this season (2025), CB Jaycee Horn has allowed two receptions for 14 yards. His 18.8 passer rating allowed when targeted this season is the second-lowest in the league among the 46 cornerbacks with 50+ coverage snaps as an outside corner.
- S Tre’von Moehrig led the Panthers in tackles for the second consecutive game with 9 (7 solo) after pacing Carolina with 11 in their season opener at Jacksonville (9/7/25). It marks the second time in his career that he has had 9+ tackles in consecutive weeks.
- Against Arizona the Carolina defense allowed just 11 yards in the first quarter. It marked the fewest yards surrendered in the opening quarter of a game by the Panthers since limiting the Seahawks to seven yards at Seattle (12/11/22).
About Atlanta
- Atlanta’s defense held the Minnesota Vikings to 198 yards while recording six sacks and four turnovers, the first time since Nov. 24, 2002, that Atlanta has recorded the stat line, and the first time any defense has done so since Miami on Dec. 17, 2023, vs. NYJ.
- RB Bijan Robinson finished Week 2 with 22 carries for 143 yards (6.5 avg.) and a long of 25. He also reeled in three catches for 25 yards. It marked his sixth-career game with at least 100 rushing yards and 25 receiving yards, tied for third in franchise history.
- QB Michael Penix Jr. has completed 40-of-63 passes for 433 yards (63.5%) and one touchdown for a passer rating of 88.9 in the first two weeks of the season. He has completed 27-of-42 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown for a passer rating of 93.2 in Week 1 while rushing six times for 21 yards and a touchdown.
- Atlanta Edge James Pearce Jr. (fifth) and DL Ruke Orhorhoro (ninth) are both ranked in the top 10 of individual QBP rate (min. 20 pass rushes), making the Falcons the only team in the league with two players in the top 10.
- The Falcons have only allowed two red zone drives (leading the NFL) and one red zone touchdown (tied for the NFL lead) in 2025. Atlanta did not allow a touchdown in Week 2, the first time the Falcons have held a team without a touchdown on the road since Week 15 of 2023 (at Carolina).
