The Tar Heels’ post-season hopes begin Wednesday afternoon when they face Notre Dame in the second round of the 2025 ACC Tournament.
The Irish defeated Pitt, 55-54, in a thrilling tournament opener in Charlotte.
UNC won the only matchup against Notre Dame, 74-73, in early January. Ian Jackson had his best game of the season in South Bend, scoring a career hight 27 points on 11 for 18 shooting from the floor.
After their win against Pitt Tuesday, Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewberry said stopping the Tar Heels in transition will be a focus Wednesday.
“Obviously, everything with Carolina is their transition. They’re so good at that and have traditionally been so good at that. Obviously, RJ Davis is an unbelievablen player and has been an unbelievable player in this league for a long time, so we’ve got to do a great job on him, as well as the other guys. They have a bunch of guys with him, Cadeau and Ian Jackson.”
Tip off for the Tar Heels and Irish second-round ACC Tournament matchup is 2:30pm.
