Friday the Carolina Panthers placed a restricted free agent tender on offensive lineman Cade Mays. Mays was selected by the Panthers in the 6th round of the 2022 NFL Draft and started the last half of the season at center after Austin Corbett was sidelined with a ruptured bicep.
During his eight game stretch at starter Mays graded as the 13th best center in the league by Pro Football Focus.
The one-year tender is worth $3.26 million based on draft order.
The move keeps a key piece of the Panthers’ much-improved offensive line on the roster through the 2025 season.
Carolina also announced that they will retain exclusive rights free agent defensive lineman LaBryan Ray.
