The Carolina Panthers have released cornerback Dane Jackson – clearing up $3.35 million against the cap, including $2.5 million in dead money.
Jackson was signed last spring in hopes that he would be a viable 2nd cornerback opposite Jaycee Horn, but an injury during training camp and disappointing play led to the veteran’s demotion and ultimate release one year into his two-year contract.
Dane Jackson finished the season with one tackle for a loss, 23 tackles and two passes defended.
