The Carolina Panthers return home to face the Dallas Cowboys at Bank of America Stadium. The Panthers look to even their record against the NFC East to .500 after besting the Giants in Week 10 and falling to the Commanders (Week 7) and Eagles (Week 14).
This will be the 15th matchup between the two clubs, with the Cowboys leading the series 11-3. The two teams last met in Week 11 of the 2023 season, an eventual 33-10 win for Dallas. The Panthers hold a 2-0 record against the Cowboys in the postseason, besting them in the 1997 Divisional Round (26-17) and the 2004 Wild Card Round (29-10).
The Panthers have lost their last three games by a combined 12 points, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12 (30-27), the New Orleans Saints in overtime in Week 13 (26-23), and the Philadelphia Eagles a week ago (22-16). Carolina has recorded multiple sacks in each of their last four games and 15.0 total sacks during that stretch.
The Cowboys travel to ‘The Queen City’ following a 27-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football. Dallas is led by fifth-year head coach Mike McCarthy, who has led them to a 47-33 record during his tenure.
The Matchup
About Carolina
- With 26 carries for 92 yards and one touchdown against Philadelphia, RB Chuba Hubbard also etched his name in the record books, eclipsing 1,000 rushing yards on the season for the first time in his career. He is the first Panthers player to rush for a 1,000 yards since Christian McCaffrey in 2019 (1,387).
- Since returning as the team’s starter in Week 8 against the Broncos, Bryce Young has completed 121-of-203 passes (59.6%) for 1,273 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions, good for an 81.2 passer rating. He has also had 10 completions of more than 25 yards, his most in a sixgame stretch in his career.
- Against the Eagles in Week 14, LB Josey Jewell led all Panthers defenders with 10 total tackles (five solo), 1.5 sacks, two tackles for loss and two quarterback hits. This was his seventh-straight game with at least six tackles, and his 12th game in a row (dating back to last season) with at least five.
- With his 11-yard reception in the second quarter of the Panthers Week 14 loss to Philadelphia, WR Adam Thielen surpassed 8,000 receiving yards for his career. He became just the fourth undrafted player since 1967 with 8,000 career receiving yards, joining Antonio Gates, Rod Smith and Wes Welker.
About Dallas
- WR CeeDee Lamb ranks third among NFL wide receivers with 1,043 scrimmage yards, his fifth season with at least 1,000 scrimmage yards. He is the fifth wide receiver in NFL history to open a career with at least 1,000 scrimmage yards in each of his first five seasons, joining Mike Evans, A.J. Green, Justin Jefferson and Randy Moss.
- Since Week 9 at Atlanta (11/3), RB Rico Dowdle ranks second in the NFL in rushing yards (485) and third in yards-per-carry (5.22). The only player with more rushing yards than Dowdle in the last six weeks is Saquon Barkley (857).
- CB Trevon Diggs has tallied two interceptions in 2024, bringing his career total to 20. Diggs’ 20 interceptions are tied for the second-most by a Cowboys player through the first 58 career games, trailing Everson Walls (25).
- LB Micah Parsons currently leads the Cowboys with 6.5 sacks in 2024. If Parsons can reach 10.0 sacks by the end of 2024, he would become the fifth NFL player in NFL history with double-digit sacks in each of his first four seasons.
