Everything You Need to Know About the Panthers vs Commanders

Carolina heads to the nation’s capital in Week Seven for the first time since Week 16 of the 2020 season to take on the Washington Commanders. This marks the Panthers first of four total matchups against NFC East opponents this season. Carolina has won three of the last four matchups against the Commanders in Washington dating back to 2012.

All-time, this will mark the 18th regular-season matchup between the two teams with Washington leading 10-7. The Commanders have a slight advantage (6-3) in games played in Washington. The two teams last squared off in Week 11 of the
2021 season, as the Commanders were victorious in Bank of America Stadium, 27-21.

Carolina enters the contest with a 1-5 record after falling to the Atlanta Falcons at home, 38-20. This marks the first of two consecutive road games prior to returning home against the New Orleans Saints on the first weekend of November.

Washington returns home after a Week Six defeat at the Baltimore Ravens, 30-23. The Commanders enter the week atop the NFC East division with a 4-2 record. Washington is led by first-year head coach, Dan Quinn, who most recently served
as the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator from 2021-23.
