The Panthers’ defense can’t catch a break.
Outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney, who has been the team’s best pass rusher, is officially listed as doubtful to play in Sunday’s division matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Clowney, who didn’t miss a game last season, has not practiced all week as he nurses a shoulder injury sustained in the Panthers’ week five loss to the Chicago Bears.
In addition to Clowney being doubtful, offensive lineman Taylor Moton, who has never missed a game during his entire NFL career, has been ruled out with an elbow injury.
Austin Corbett (biceps), Josey Jewell (hamstring/groin), Andrew Raym (concussion) and Tommy Tremble (concussion) also will not play.
Dane Jackson (hamstring), Diontae Johnson (ankle), A’Shawn Robinson (ankle) and Ian Thomas (calf) are all listed as questionable.
