DJ Carolina X Looks to Bring New Flair to the Pregame Experience at Bank of America Stadium

DJ’s are essential to setting the vibe at ANY function, including football games.

Fans still talk about the Panthers’ 2015 divisional playoff game against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks when Future rang out across Bank of America Stadium after the 31-24 win. That well-timed choice by the DJ, made the moment perfect and one attendees will never forget.

That’s the power of the vibe curator and one Columbia, SC native Nate Perkins, aka DJ Carolina X, looks to bring to Bank of America Stadium’s pregame experience.

Perkins began DJing by accident as a young party promoter in Columbia when he had a no-show for a very important event.

“I had to come up with a playlist and DJ on my own,” he recalled. “I kinda fell in love with it. I liked the idea of combining two songs together. It turned it into a hobby and eventually it turned into a career.”

From Columbia to The Bank

While Perkins will be new to The Bank, he isn’t new to Charlotte. He’s been the official DJ at Charlotte Knights games since May of 2023 and turned an opportunity to play during the Panthers’ team media day into a full time gig.

“I was contacted on Instagram by a member of the organization telling me, ‘Hey, I like the way that you play music. We have a production day that we do every year that would require you to play music while the players have photos taken and get video shots for the upcoming year.'”

“I played music in the background,” Dj Carolina X continued, “because it’s kind of dead when there’s no music and you’re just taking pictures.”

The team loved the way Perkins interacted with the players and incorporated specific music guys liked into his set.

“They were so impressed that they wanted to take me on full time as part of the organization.

Game Day Vibes

What’s the one word that describes what DJ Carolina X plans to bring to the Panthers’ game day experience? ENERGY.

“Anywhere that I’ve been everyone has said that I bring the energy to ANY room – whether there’s five people in the room or 10,000 people in the room.”

“I don’t anyone to be bored. This is our historic 30th season. I definitely want to bring the energy and the hype back to the Carolina Panthers when it comes to fans enjoying their overall experience at the games”

You can expect to hear DJ Carolina X every game day from the time the gates open up until the player introductions.
