Monday morning the Carolina Panthers announced that they have parted ways with general manager Scott Fitterer.
“As we move forward with the new direction for our franchise, I have made the decision that Scott Fitterer will no longer serve as our general manager,” Panthers owner David Tepper said in a statement. “I appreciate Scott’s efforts and wish the best for him and his family.”

I don’t think Fitterer did much to applaud in Carolina, but it’s impossible to ignore the fact that his tenure was mostly spent trying to facilitate the whims of Rhule and/or Tepper. Others might have executed things better, but the lack of coherent vision still needs addressing.
