Carolina welcomes the Houston Texans to Bank of America Stadium after both teams were idle in Week 7.
All time, this will mark just the seventh matchup between the two teams with Carolina leading the series 4-2. While the series is tied 1-1 in games played at Carolina, the Panthers have won four consecutive games against the Texans.
The Texans enter Week 8 with a 3-3 record. Houston will play the NFC South in four-consecutive games. They lost to Atlanta in Week 5, defeated the Saints in Week 6, and will play the Buccaneers the week following their contest in Carolina.

- Quarterback CJ Stroud (2023) joined Patrick Mahomes (1,831 passing yards in
2019), Drew Brees (1,658 in 2018) and Russell Wilson (1,409 in 2019) as the only quarterbacks with at least 1,400 yards passing and zero interceptions through the first five games of a season. This season through six games, Stroud has thrown for 1,660 passing yards, marking the fourth-most in the NFL through that span.
- Rookie wide receiver Tank Dell entered the Texans record books in the Week 3 win at Jacksonville, as he led the team with five receptions for 145 yards and one touchdown, which is the most receiving yards in a single game by a rookie in franchise history.
- Linebacker Blake Cashman was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after his stellar performance in the team’s 20-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 6. Cashman finished with career highs in tackles (15), passes defensed (two) and tackles for loss (two), while also logging one quarterback hit.
- Through the first seven weeks of the season, the Texans have been efficient in converting third down opportunities, as they currently rank eighth in the NFL in third down efficiency (44.3%).
