If there’s one thing NC State head coach Dave Doeren is going to keep, it’s a receipt.
After his Wolfpack’s 24-17 win over Clemson, Doeren sent a strong message to former NFL wide receiver Steve Smith, who picked the Tigers to win during ESPN’s College GameDay show.
“Clemson has been struggling,” Smith said. “Obviously they’re not the team we’ve loved over the years. But NC State – unfortunately- they’re waiting on basketball season to start.”
In response, right before walking off during his post game interview, Doeren said:
“Tell Steve Smith in the studio, this ain’t a basketball school. He can kiss my ass.”

During his post game press conference Doeren double-downed on his comments to Smith, saying that he needs to “do your homework before talking sh*t.”
