The biggest off-season news for the Duke men’s basketball team was the return of center Kyle Filipowski. Filipowski, who was projected by many to be a first round NBA draft pick, averaged 15 points and nine rebounds during his freshman campaign.
In a day and age where being a one-and-done is the goal, Kyle said the decision to stay in college was easy.
“I didn’t really do much with going into the NBA process as all,” Flip said during Duke men’s basketball media day. “I had a hunch of where I fell, but I wasn’t that interested in taking a deeper dive and seeing the highest I could go. I loved it here this past year and I know there’s so much I can improve on.”
Filipowski, who had double hip surgery during the off-season, returned to five-on-five practice last week.
