All eyes have been on rookie quarterback Bryce Young as the team goes through offseason organized team activities – and the Panthers’ #1 pick has not disappointed. During Thursday’s session Young threw several dimes to receivers as the team focused heavily on red zone drills. It’s something that hasn’t gone unnoticed by teammates – on both sides of the ball.
“He’s smart,” veteran linebacker Shaq Thompson said when we asked him his impressions of Young. “He understands football. He understands the playbook. He’s making great throws out there…I think he’s going to be great. It’s going to be an awesome thing to see.”
“I can’t speak highly enough of him,” offensive lineman Brady Christensen said. “The way he carries himself, his leadership, his confidence; I’m just really excited to be able to protect him and see what he can do.”
Right now veteran quarterback Andy Dalton is number one on the depth chart, but with how quickly Bryce is picking up things, I expect he’ll officially be named QB1 by training camp.
