What Made Bryce Young the Right Pick for Carolina

The Carolina Panthers have selected Bryce Young with the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. The last time the Panthers had the #1 pick they selected Cam Newton – the best player in franchise history. Newton gave his endorsement of Young on social media earlier this week. Having a franchise QB has Panthers fans as excited as they’ve been in a long time. As one tweet stated, the Panthers have gone from shopping from Goodwill to Gucci. So what made Bryce Young the right pick at number one?

Poise:

Bryce Young is very cool under pressure and that’s an aspect that will transfer well to the NFL. Young put the Tide on his back in against Texas – willing his team to victory when nothing was going well. Even in defeats against LSU and Tennessee, Young had his team in position to win and did everything he could. In those games Alabama lost on a last second field goal and a two-point conversion in overtime. Last year’s team wasn’t a typical Alabama roster, but Young was able to elevate his teammates and had Bama in position to win both of those games.

Skill:

Young has great touch on his passes and can make every NFL throw. He isn’t fazed when the pass rush comes and still focuses on delivering the ball downfield. If Young has to leave the pocket he can make the necessary plays when things breaks down. Bryce is an accurate passer, as demonstrated in his last game versus Kansas State where he dropped dimes. Young is able to read the field and has shown an ability to use his eyes to manipulate defenses to create better opportunities. Young is the quintessential point guard at the quarterback position.

Face of The Franchise:

Young brings something Panthers fans have been wanting since Cam Newton’s first departure, a face of the franchise at the quarterback position. The Panthers have found their guy and they are excited for what’s to come.

Bryce Young, the keys to Carolina are now yours.
