The ACC preseason player of the year will be wearing a different uniform next season. NC State quarterback Devin Leary announced Monday morning he will enter the transfer portal for his final season of eligibility.
Leary’s season ended against Florida State in October after suffering a torn pectoral muscle. The Wolfpack went on to start three different QB’s the rest of the way, with freshman MJ Morris shining in a few wins and backup Ben Finley gutting out a win against rival UNC.
In a season of “what ifs’ for the Wolfpack, this closes a chapter that many thought would end differently, including Leary as he stated in his announcement tweet, but is the best decision for both sides.
