Carolina Blitz reported earlier today that the Carolina Panthers were taking calls, but would only trade Christian McCaffrey for “significant compensation.” Thursday night they made a deal with the 49ers, reportedly sending McCaffrey to the Bay Area for a 2nd, 3rd and 4th round pick in next year’s draft and a 5th round pick in 2024.
There were mixed reactions to the news on Twitter, with some Panthers fans celebrating the haul of picks and others sad to see the former All-pro leaving Carolina.
