Power Rankings: Top 10 NFL Teams Heading into Week 3

Miami is looking like a potential Super Bowl contender after a 4th quarter comeback at home versus the Ravens. Can anyone stop the Bills? How will Justin Herbert play through his rib cartilage injury?

Here are my top ten NFL teams heading into week 3

1. Buffalo Bills (2-0)– When healthy, the Buffalo Bills are the best team in all of football. This is without All-Pro cornerback Tre’ White, whose presence on the defensive side of the ball reminds you of Darrelle Revis with his lockdown abilities. Right now, Josh Allen is the front runner for MVP and Stephon Diggs cannot be guarded one-on-one (The fact that teams continue to play him with no saftey help over the top mind boggling). Next up is showdown in Miami with the red hot Dolphins.

2. Kansas City Chiefs (2-0)– The Chargers’ defense will be a problem this season and throughout halftime they did a great job containing Pat Mahomes. Holding Travis Kelce just 5 catches on 7 targets for 51 yards is impressive also. Kelce was shadowed all evening by Derwin James. If it wasn’t for Jaylen Watson’s pick-six in the fourth quarter at the goal line, we may be having another discussion, but for now the Chiefs stay at #2.

3. Tampa Bay Buccanears (2-0)– Tom Brady set lit a fire under his teammates on the sideline during Sunday’s matchup against New Orleans, looking for any type of response. And they responded, intercepting Jameis Winston on three consecutive pass attempts – one which went for six points. Devin White alluded to the “gifts” post game, saying the defense knew Winston would throw them the ball.

4. Miami Dolphins (2-0)– The game of the week went down in Miami, with the Dolphins overcoming a double digit deficit in the 4th quarter to defeat the Baltimore Ravens. Tua Tagovailia threw for 469 yards and six touchdowns. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle have an argument for the baddest and fastest 1-2 wide receiver punch in all of football. I won’t be a prisoner of the moment, but if the Dolphins defeat the Bills at home Sunday, they will turn a lot of heads around the NFL.

5. LA Rams (1-1)– Jalen Ramsey redeemed himself Sunday with a game-solidifying interception that erased any hopes of a Falcons comeback in the fourth quarter. Matt Stafford has another weapon on the outside with the addition of Allen Robinson to go alongside Cooper Kupp. Continuing to keep their foot on the gas pedal is my only cause for concern for the defending champs through week 3.

6. Philadelphia Eagles (2-0)– Jalen Hurts is looking like the best quarterback in the NFC East. The addition of AJ Brown with Devonta Smith has worked wonders for the Eagles offense, with Hurts throwing for over 300 yards (333) and accounting for three touchdowns in Monday night’s win. But the star of the evening was cornerback Darius Slay, who dared Kirk Cousins to throw his way – completely locking down Justin Jefferson and allowing just 6 receptions for 48 yards. As of right now, the Eagles have a legit chance to win the NFC East.

7. LA Chargers (1-1)– How much pain can Justin Herbert tolerate playing through a rib cartilage injury suffered in Thursday’s lost to the Kansas City Chiefs? In addition, Keneen Allen missed the contest to injury – leaving Herbert with one outside weapon in Mike Williams who stepped up with eight receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown. LA can’t sleep on the upset-minded Jacksonville Jaguars who shutout the Colts Sunday 24-0.

8. Baltimore Ravens (1-1)– Lamar Jackson’s price just went up. Every time he steps on the field he demonstrates how dangerous he is behind center – accounting for four touchdowns Sunday, running for 119 yards and throwing for 318 yards. Normally, after a performance of that nature you’re not talking about a defeat, but the Ravens’ secondary allowed six touchdowns. It will be interesting to see how Bill Belichick orchestrates his defense on Sunday as the Ravens head to New England.

9. Minnesota Vikings (1-1)– For the first time ever, Vikings’ wide receiver Justin Jefferson looked ordinary matched up against Darius Slay.

10. Green Bay Packers (1-1)– Aaron Rodgers told the world last season “He owns the Bears” and once again confirmed it with an efficient 19 of 25 passing for two touchdowns. Aaron Jones averaged over eight yards per carry – totaling 132 on the ground. The difference was the Packers dropping 21 points before half and never looking back.
