We are about two months away from the start of the NBA season. The Charlotte Hornets will kick off the year October 19th in San Antonio. Here are some of the notable matchups throughout the season:
Friday October 21st- Pelicans vs Hornets:
- Former Duke standouts Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram return to North Carolina for the Charlotte Hornets home opener.
Saturday October 29th- Warriors vs Hornets:
- Charlotte native Steph Curry and the defending champion Warriors come to the Spectrum Center for the only time during the season.
Wednesday November 23rd- 76ers vs Hornets:
- 2x MVP runner up Joel Embiid brings the Sixers to Charlotte for the first of two matchups at the Spectrum Center.
Friday November 25th- Timberwolves vs Hornets:
- The top 2 picks in the 2020 draft square off on Black Friday.
Saturday December 3rd- Bucks vs Hornets:
- 2x MVP Giannis brings one of the favorites in the East to the Spectrum Center.
Saturday December 31st- Nets vs Hornets:
- If Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are still on the team, despite the turmoil, this will be a good matchup to end 2022.
Monday January 2nd- Lakers vs Hornets:
- LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook and the Lakers make their only trip to Charlotte to kick off 2023
Wednesday January 4th- Grizzlies vs Hornets:
- Ja Morant makes his only trip to the Spectrum Center of the season
Saturday January 14th and Monday January 16th – Boston vs Charlotte:
- Defending Eastern Conference champs come to Charlotte in a mini series.
Saturday February 11th- Nuggets vs Hornets:
- 2x MVP Nikola Jokic makes his only visit to the Spectrum Center.
Sunday March 26- Mavs vs Hornets:
- Potential league MVP Luka Doncic makes his only trip to Charlotte.
