Gaffney High School to Participate in Joint Training Camp Practice with Panthers

Head Coach Matt Rhule and the Carolina Panthers will welcome defending SCHSL 5A state champion Gaffney High School for a unique joint training camp practice Friday Aug. 5 at Wofford College.

Gaffney coaches and players will embed with the Panthers during pre-practice position drills and team warm-ups. Teams will then hold their regularly scheduled practices on adjoining fields before coming back together for final practice messages from Rhule and Gaffney head coach Dan Jones, who was selected as the 2021 South Carolina Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year.

The one-of-a-kind practice is part of the Panthers and NFL’s Play Football Month initiative, which celebrates the game of football played at the grassroots level.

“The Carolina Panthers are strong supporters of high school football in our region,” said Panthers head coach Matt Rhule. “The opportunity to share this experience with Gaffney High School reinforces that the fundamentals and preparation football teams go through – no matter what the level of play – is universal.”
