Duke’s Mayo Bowl to Use NIL to Showcase Players’ Experience

The Duke’s Mayo Bowl announced today that it has partnered with Opendorse, a NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) platform, to use participants in the game to tell the story of this year’s bowl experience.  As part of this offering players from the University of North Carolina and University of South Carolina football teams will have a variety of opportunities throughout their time in Charlotte to promote Duke’s Mayonnaise and the Bowl.

Included in these NIL opportunities will be the first ever “Duke’s Mayo Bowl Ambassador” named from the winning team. This individual will be offered a $5,000 contract to help continue to tell the story of the Duke’s Mayo Bowl into the offseason via social media posts and other opportunities.

“It’s exciting to see the Duke’s Mayo Bowl and other bowl games thinking creatively when it comes to NIL and other opportunities, Nick Carparelli the Executive Director of Bowl Season said. “Engaging with players and working together to grow awareness for the bowl experience is a positive for everyone involved.”

“NIL has created unique promotional opportunities for bowl games to work alongside college athletes, added Blake Lawrence, CEO of Opendorse. “The players are the most relevant, influential ambassadors available to these games. Duke’s Mayo Bowl has embraced this opportunity to support athletes and engage fans in new and innovative ways.”

The game is scheduled for Thursday, December 30th at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. with an 11:30 a.m. kickoff, it will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. Tickets are available at DukesMayoBowl.com.
