Panthers Twitter Reacts to Joey Slye Taking Shots at Carolina

Place kicker Joey Slye spent two years in Carolina, but was released before the beginning of this season after he struggled making kicks and converting extra points during the preseason. Since his release, Slye was signed, and let go, by the Texans and 49ers before latching on with the Washington Football team at the beginning of this month.

In Sunday’s game against the Panthers Slye made both of his field goal attempts from 36 and 29 yards. Washington would go on to defeat the Panthers 27-21 and Slye would use the victory as an opportunity to take shots at the team that gave him his first real opportunity – posting on Instagram a picture of him kicking with the caption “I’M BAAACKKKK” – a clear reference to Cam Newton’s “I’m Baaccckkk” touchdown celebration during Carolina’s week 10 win against Arizona.

Once Panthers’ Twitter got a hold of the post, they had no problem calling Slye to task.
