After Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Carolina Panthers’ head coach Matt Rhule admitted that the Panthers’ are still searching for what their offensive identity will be. Monday, during his press conference discussing the game after watching film, Rhule said that a focus for Carolina going forward will be limiting the turnovers (the Panthers turned the ball over just twice during their 3-0 start and have turned the ball over eight time in their three losses) and establishing a more consistent run game.

“We have not been committed enough to running it and that’s going to change. You’ll see a vastly different look from us moving forward. We’re not going to line up, drop back, throw it 40 times and think that’s going to win the game for us. It hasn’t. Chuba has shown us that he can run the football at a high level when given enough opportunities. So, we’re going to redefine who we are. We’re going to run the football. We’re going to protect the football and not turn the ball over.”

While Rhule knows there is a sense of urgency to win, he’s not ready to panic.

“We need to fix ourselves first. We don’t need to panic. We don’t need to throw the baby out with the bath water. We’re three and three. We have to stop turning the ball over and we have to stop the run on defense.”
