The Panthers will be without Christian McCaffrey for at least another three weeks. The team announced Saturday that they are placing the all-pro running on injured reserved. The earliest McCaffrey can return would be week-nine against the New England Patriots.
Christian strained his hamstring during the Panthers’ week-three win at Houston. The Thursday night matchup required a quick turnaround that McCaffrey said he believes contributed to the injury.
Rookie Chuba Hubbard will continue to start in McCaffrey’s absence.
Carolina also placed rookie offensive lineman Deonte Brown, who injured his knee this week during practice, on injured reserve.
