Raleigh, NC – Even though practice has already started, the 2021-22 basketball season got underway for both NC State basketball teams as they hosted their annual Primetime with The Pack event Thursday evening inside Reynolds Coliseum.
The quick opening event geared towards the students with a concert after the basketball section gave a brief preview and intro to what fans have to look forward to. Both teams were introduced to the crowds, displaying their dance moves with the back-to-back ACC Tournament Champion women’s team receiving a loud roar from the beginning of the intro video.
Three actual basketball events took place with players from both teams being split into teams, competing in a three-point shootout followed by a hotshot contest where a layup, free throw, three-point shot had to be made followed by a half-court shot in two minutes.
The final event was a slam dunk contest that featured Breon Pass, Ernest Ross, Terquavion Smith, and defending champion Dereon Seabron. The finals came down to Smith and Seabron with Seabron repeating as champion.
Both teams return to action with the men’s team hosting their only exhibition game of the season Monday, November 1 as they host Elizabeth City State University. The women’s team will host UNC Pembroke in an exhibition on Wednesday, November 3.
