The Carolina Panthers return to Bank of America Stadium for a Week 5 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Carolina enters this week with a 3-1 record after suffering its first lost of the season last Sunday at Dallas by a score of 36-28. The Panthers are tied with Tampa Bay for the best
record in the NFC South this season. Carolina’s +31 point differential (97 PF, 66 PA) is the fifth-best margin by any team this year.
Philadelphia comes to Carolina with a 1-3 record. The Eagles won their season opener against Atlanta, but have since been defeated by San Francisco, Dallas and Kansas

- QB Sam Darnold tallied two rushing touchdowns Sunday, his first career game with multiple rushing scores. Darnold’s league-leading five rushing touchdowns this year are the most ever by a QB in the first four games of a season in the Super Bowl era. He finished with 301 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, 2 interceptions and a passer rating of 85.5. Darnold is the first QB in franchise history with three straight games of 300+ passing yards. His performance marked the fourth time in team history (QB Cam Newton did it three times) that a quarterback rushed for two scores and threw for two more.
- WR DJ Moore led the team with 8 receptions, 113 receiving yards (14.1 avg.) and 2 touchdowns against the Cowboys. Sunday’s game marked just the second time in his career that he recorded 100+ receiving yards in consecutive games (Weeks 9 & 10 of 2019 season). It marked the 11th game of his career with 100+ receiving yards and 3rd career multi-touchdown performance. Through four games, Moore ranks 4th in the NFL with 398 receiving yards in 2021. Moore has totaled 30 receptions this season, tied for the 2nd-most in the league. His 30 catches are the most by any Panthers player through the first four games of a season.
- Rookie RB Chuba Hubbard logged the first start of his career, filling in for an injured Christian McCaffrey. Hubbard recorded a team-high 57 rushing yards on 13 attempts (4.4 yards per attempt). He added 14 yards through the air giving him 71 scrimmage yards on 15 touches to finish the game.
- CBs A.J. Bouye and CJ Henderson made their first appearances in a Panthers uniform in Sunday’s game playing 80 and 30 percent of snaps, respectively. Both players recorded three tackles during their first action with Carolina.
- Carolina’s offense was 100% in red zone efficiency on Sunday, scoring a touchdown on all four red zone drives. This marked the 10th game in team history that the Panthers had four or more red zone drives and scored a touchdown each time.
