UNC ACC Men’s Basketball Schedule

The University of North Carolina men’s basketball team will begin Atlantic Coast Conference play on December 5 at Georgia Tech in the first regular-season ACC game under first-year UNC head coach Hubert Davis.

Carolina’s ACC opener will come in its eighth regular-season game, four days after the Tar Heels play host to Michigan in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

The ACC home opener is against Virginia Tech on Wednesday, December 29.

Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech are two of six teams the Tar Heels are scheduled to play both at home and on the road this season along with Boston College, Duke, Louisville and NC State.

Chestnut Hill, Mass., is Carolina’s first travel destination of 2022 as the Tar Heels and Eagles will square off at Conte Forum at Noon on January 1. It will be Carolina’s first New Year’s Day game since hosting Monmouth on 1/1/2012, just the fourth New Year’s game in school history and UNC’s first-ever ACC game on January 1.

Carolina plays only home games against Florida State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Virginia and only on the road against Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame and Wake Forest.

This is the third season in which the ACC is playing 20 regular-season league games.

The 2022 ACC Tournament is March 8-12 at the Barclays Center, the third time in six seasons the conference champion will be crowned in Brooklyn.

Carolina hosts Elizabeth City State in an exhibition game on November 5 and the first regular-season game against Loyola (Md.) on November 9.
